My amateur gardening exploits

Ornamental plants

I was not a fan of house plants until I moved and realised that I did not want to just have random things. I wanted things that were beneficial and aesthetic. House plants/ornamental plants are TRYING plants. They are very humbling and were harder than my vegetables to take care of. I collect rainwater for these children, check them twice a day, try to determine their needs, move them out of the sun when needed, move them to the sun when needed. They are definitely time consuming little children (my husband commented that I have too many plants! I know! he is very wrong).

Edible plants

Cilantro, melon and tomatoes are ungrateful brats. Meanwhile, okra, thyme and basil are thriving, living their best lives. I would love to plant more edibles but there are some issues with pests in my area and treating them is proving to be difficult.
